-Annual Fasting-
The Ministry of Common Sense and Spirituality would like to invite you to join with us in fasting to cleanse and purify your body mind and spirit. Each year since its inception in 1998 by Reverend Norbert, he and his dedicated followers and members of the Ministry have joined together and supported each other as they committed themselves to foregoing the pleasure of at least three items that are important in their life for a 47 day fast.
Why fast I hear you ask? As Ministers of God we have spirituality in our lives and we pray daily to God to replenish our spiritual wellbeing. We eat to nourish our body, sometimes more than we should, indulging in the bountiful fare that grace and good fortune allows us. By giving up at least three of the food items that we eat or drink on a regular basis and dedicating this fast to Mother God and Father God we not only cleanse our body of impurities, but also our mind and spirit as we hold this fast up to Mother God and Father God as an offering of our love and dedication.
The 2011 annual ritual will begin at midnight on Tuesday March 8th and continue through to midnight on Saturday April 23rd. This is a total of 47 days. In numerology, 4 +7 = 11, which is an auspicious number. The number eleven is thought to possess the qualities of intuition, honesty, patience, sensitivity, and spirituality.
What should you give up for your faith? As an example the items that Reverend Norbert is forgoing this year include coffee, cheese, sweets, alcohol, rice, pasta and meat. You can choose the items that you wish to abstain from and if you feel that your spiritual path is close to God and wish to choose more than three then by all means please do so and remember nine is a divine number. Please let us know that you will be a part of the fasting in order that we may support and guide each other.
God Love you!
Love and Light,
Reverend Norbert
